[Review] Olay Regenerist Anti-Aging Series | Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence & Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream

What does the brand name OLAY mean to us, one may ask? Well, most definitely one that stood the test of time. We remember quite fondly that the brand existed way back in those days when we were growing up and admiring our own mother enjoying a jar of Olay cream on her classic dressing table. Incidentally, it is also the ONE and ONLY face cream or skincare product that our mother-in-law swears by and used all these years, even till today! If you had a chance to take a peek at her face and skin texture, one would not believe that she is in her 70s now and has less wrinkles than the younger woman next door, seriously! Now, that is what we called revealing your #BestBeautiful *_^

Of course, over the years, Olay as a brand has evolved and progressed to offer women around the world with better and more exciting range of skincare products and expanded to even younger consumers. Here for more. Today, we would like to share a little of our experience using 2 of the selected skincare products from Olay Regenerist range - the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence and the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream. (even though we did also try out the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, which is the day moisturizer)

Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence (40ml at MYR79.90)
Pre-Essence is the keyword here, so one would be familiar with this skincare product, the function of this Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence is basically a pre-serum, one to be used after toner and before your actual serum and moisturiser in your normal skincare routine. It basically helps to enhance the efficacy of your subsequent skincare products which you will be applying after this Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence, which comes in a bright red plastic bottle, with a dropper within to dispense the skincare product. One needs to un-screw the cap first, you will notice it once it is un-screwed, that is how the product is drawn into the dropper. Press the pump and the liquid will be dispensed. It is advised to use two pumps for optimal results, day and night. It is also said to help boost skin cell metabolism and renewal, reduce fine lines, pores and firm the skin. When Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence is combined with the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, the combo provides 2x more anti-aging penetration into the skin and helps boost renewal of surface cells, the Olay team called it their #MiracleDuo.

This Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence comes in a watery clear fluid, it has a lightweight texture and a nice consistency to it, feels really comfortable upon application to the skin. It gets absorbed relatively fast and keeps our skin feeling supple and moist. We totally love the feeling it leaves on our skin, honestly. We don't really have much fine lines to begin with, so we cannot really attest to its efficacy of reducing our fine lines and wrinkles. Pore size wise, this one did not have that much effect on us. Perhaps longer period of time, it may show?

Our only qualm about this one would be from the ingredient department. We spotted Methylparaben,  a preservative that is commonly used in anti-aging skincare to extend the life of a product, also a commonly known harmful ingredients in skincare, if used in high dosage. Perhaps it is best avoid applying it especially on the eyes and lips area. So if you have sensitive skin or is concerned over certain ingredients in your skincare, you may want to take note on this.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting NIGHT Cream (50g at MYR99.90)
Part of the advanced anti-aging range, this Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream comes in a red tub and with the co-relating silver concave cap, like its day time moisturizer partner. We believe its functions are pretty similar to the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, as in promoting skin cell renewal, firming and reducing the appearance of pores, providing overall skin smoothness, radiance and ultra deep hydration while the skin is at its repairing state at night.

Using The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream

Slightly pinkish in colour and has a slightly different texture to the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream feels lightweight on the skin, melts away beautifully. The skin feels moist and supple after using it. It definitely helps in keeping our skin hydrated, especially welcoming since we do sleep with air-condition on for a few hours at night. With this, we will wake up to a more rested, moist skin the next morning. This one looks to be clear from commonly known harmful ingredients, which is good news *_^ Hydration, most definitely, anti-aging? We believe we need more time to see its full potential and efficacy.

Off all the three skincare from Olay Regenerist range that we have tried here, our most favourite, hands down would have to be the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence simply for its most super lightweight texture among the three. Olay is such a house hold name and has come a long way in making women feel beautiful, empowering us with the notion that our #BestBeautiful can most definitely be achieved, no matter our age, we only wish that the brand would eventually work towards making all their skincare products safer, for those who have more sensitive skin and susceptible to certain skin reactions due to a certain ingredient. Having said that, if one is looking for a more plumped and renewed skin from within, without the need for fillers, this Olay Regenerist range may just be something you would like to take a look.
