M.A.C AW2015 Trends: Love Worn & Red 70s

After sharing with you the two trends of M.A.C Autumn/Winter 2015 previously here, it is time to wrap up the year with the remaining two makeup trends for this season - namely the Love Worn and Red 70s by makeup giant, M.A.C Cosmetics. "Everything is a signature this season!" declares Val Garland of this varied crew. Time to widen your makeup horizon, diversity is for all.

The Red 70s
This season the rouged lip moves closer to Woodstock than Hollywood. As brick-y retro reds take over from classic Russian hues, rust, bordeaux, wine, burgundy, ochre, caramel, tobacco, cognac, aubergine, whether velvet or vinyl in texture, these dark warm lips exude a sophistication that references everything from porcelain pre-Raphaelite to the chic side of the 70s, and are "cool-er and less 'lady' than traditional red," says Van Garland.

"True Crimson automatically recalls a specific, iconic glamour; these rusty tones are less referenced, less obvious," agrees Lyne Desnoyers. Eccentrically inclined, but super chic and pulled together, what's as appealing as their versatile vibe is the flattering nature of these biba-worthy shades for fairest to deepest skin tone alikes. "They make all eye colours really stands out and looks mesmeric." says Lucia Perioni, while Terry Barber adds, "These tones just work on everybody, they require no effort to look chic," and, newly glamorous.

We do love that muted kind of red lips for this season, not too overpowering yet do not lose that sensual feel to complete the look, we feel.

Love Worn
Focuses on the eye makeup, Love Worn trend is quite an intriguing one, we feel. An evolution of the "real' beauty that has felt relevant for a few seasons now, these eye makeups examine how makeup interacts with life and looks all the more visceral and sensual for doing so. The offhand attitude they exude is "sexy rather than grungy" says Terry Barber. "It takes classic makeup to the next level, a nuanced version of something that used to be quite done."

It suddenly feels right to define the idea of sexiness, and come to the realization that it's moved far and away from cliché. Love Worn makeup that plays with a translucent grey-scale reinvents the smokey eye. Think makeup that has been worn all day - or night - and it's all the better for it. Perfection is entirely opposite to sensuality. partied-in, lived-in, worn-in makeup rolls in from a night (or day) out this season, with sultry scales of grey kohl and cement shadow providing a contemporary take on a traditional smokey eye. Fresh skin is key to this look.

We are not really good with the colour grey for our eye makeup look, perhaps it is a good idea to take some hints and tips from Love Worn makeup here, right? Do you have a trend that catches your eyes? We do hope so.

Shall be looking forward to M.A.C Cosmetics forecast of the coming Spring/Summer 2016 makeup trends. Perhaps we shall have the opportunity to share with you some of the insights. More about M.A.C Cosmetics the brand here. Till then, have a lovely holiday season and hope you are excited about counting down to a brand new year, as much as we are here, lovelies *_^
